The Horner family is thought to have
its origins in the Danish invasions of North England in the 8th century. Our
Indiana and Ohio Horner families began in North Yorkshire, England.
We follow the 1821
immigration of Elias Horner
and his wife Dorothy, both 24, and their two small children, son
Francis, 3, and
daughter Hannah, only 6 months
old. 1830 Census records first verify the family in Warren County,
Ohio. They moved to Indiana around 1844, finally settling in the Northern and
Central parts of the state.
Over 300 people have
descended from this original couple and their 10 children. Thanks
Elias
and Dorothy!!
